This GemPlus PC430 is a smart card reader writer that can read from and write to various cards that have a chip embedded in them.
This does NOT work on Mac OS.
The GemPC430 is powered by a USB Type-A slot.
The GemPC430 is based on Gemplus GemCore hardware and firmware, which means it can handle most types of ISO7816 compliant smart cards without compatibility issues. The GemPC430 works seamlessly with most major environments, most card types and most computer brands.
Characteristics:
1. Smart card interface reads and writes to all ISO7816-1 2 3 4 memory and microprocessor smart cards (T=0, T=1) and supports 3V and 5V cards.
NOTE - This device does not work with or program IC cards wafer cards that require Phoenix Smartmouse interface, these include PIC cards, Gold cards, Silver cards, Emerald cards, Fun cards, etc. etc.
2. Programmable from 9,600 baud to 115,200 baud with the smart card.
3. High speed communication with PC via USB port connection.
4. 5V maximum drawn from the USB port.
5. Electromagnetic standards: Europe: Directive 89 336 CEE, EN 55022: 1994 Class B, EN 5 EMC Directive compliance
